Retail Chain — Multi-Store Digital Signage Rollout
Deploying 200+ Samsung smart signage displays and NGX media players across 25 stores with centralized content management for a national retail chain.

The Challenge
A national retail chain with 25 stores across India needed to modernize its in-store visual communication. Existing visual merchandising relied on printed POS materials that were expensive to produce, slow to distribute, and impossible to update across stores simultaneously. Each store operated independently for promotional displays, resulting in inconsistent branding and delayed campaign launches.
Key pain points included high recurring costs for printed promotional materials (design, print, logistics), a 2 to 3 week lag between campaign decisions and in-store visibility, inconsistent brand presentation across stores in different cities, no dynamic content capability for real-time pricing or time-of-day promotions, and difficulty measuring the impact of in-store visual communication.
The Solution
VTL designed a comprehensive digital signage ecosystem covering promotional displays, digital menu boards, and wayfinding across all 25 stores.
Promotional Signage: Samsung smart signage displays positioned at store entrances, end-caps, and feature walls for dynamic promotional content, new arrivals, and seasonal campaigns.
Digital Price Boards: Samsung displays deployed at checkout areas and product category zones for dynamic pricing, offers, and product information.
Media Players: NGX media players deployed at each location for reliable, always-on content playback with remote management capability.
Centralized CMS: Cloud-based content management enabling head office to push campaigns to all 25 stores simultaneously, regional managers to customize content for local markets, automated scheduling for time-of-day promotions, and real-time content updates for flash sales.
Implementation
The deployment followed a 4-phase approach over 18 weeks. Planning and design (Weeks 1-3) included store layout analysis and standardized display configurations per store format. Pilot stores (Weeks 4-6) deployed 3 pilot locations (metro, tier-1, tier-2 city) for validation. Pan-India rollout (Weeks 7-16) deployed remaining 22 stores in batches of 4 to 5 stores per wave, with each store completed within 2 to 3 days. CMS training and go-live (Weeks 17-18) trained head office and regional content managers. All installations were conducted during non-trading hours with pre-staged complete store kits and a standardized installation playbook for consistent quality across cities.

Print material costs were substantially reduced annually. Campaign-to-store deployment time collapsed from 2 to 3 weeks to same-day. Brand consistency improved dramatically across all 25 locations. The centralized CMS gave the marketing team control they had never previously had over in-store visual communication.
"The ability to launch a promotion across all 25 stores simultaneously has been a game-changer for our marketing team. VTL handled the entire pan-India rollout efficiently, and the centralized CMS gives us control we never had before."
